A five-time Global Volunteer, Susan fell in love with the children at the Tutova in Romania. In particular, a girl named Alexandra caught her eye. Because of her fragile condition, Alexandra was spending most of her time alone and since since Tutova clinic is understaffed, the aides generally did not have much time to spend with her. Susan decided to do something about this and raised enough funds to sponsor a salary of additional aide that would address Alexandra's needs in order to support healthy development. Susan was on a service program this summer and was able to see Alexandra's progress first-hand. She will work with Global Volunteers on continuation of her sponsorship for Alexandra for the months to come.

I love this picture!! I was with Susan and met Alexandra for the first time this summer in Tutova. Alexandra has found an angel in Susan, and I know this kiss is a kiss of a lifetime since Alex is not one to show any affection. WHat a great photo!
